My second daughter is named Annie. The first music she ever heard was when I sang her “Annie’s Song,” by John Denver, in the hospital a few hours after she was born. So of course at some point I was going to arrange that song for barbershop. I originally intended the arrangement to be rather simple and short, appropriate for Singing Valentines or something similar. But when my own quartet, The Big Time, later added it to our repertoire, I expanded it a bit. This published version can work either way: skip the third verse if you want to stay short and easy, or put it in if you want to impress.
