About Me
I’m an arranger, songwriter, composer, singer, pianist, and (by day) attorney based in the Seattle area. I learned to read music about the same time I learned to read English, and I won my first composition contest in first grade (true, I was the only entry in the contest, but still!). I’ve been writing, arranging, singing, and playing music ever since. As soon as I discovered the joy of barbershop singing, I knew I wanted to arrange songs in that style. I was awarded the 2016 Lou Perry Arranging Scholarship to Harmony University, and have won or been recognized in songwriting contests sponsored by both the Barbershop Harmony Society and Sweet Adelines International. My arrangements have been performed by dozens of groups on at least four continents, including several BHS and SAI international competitors. I have been a member of Northwest Sound Men’s Chorus since 2011, and my current quartet is New Groove. I have a B.A. in Music and a B.A. in Public Relations from Brigham Young University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. I like Oreos, Wordle, and Hawaiian shirts. My wife Shelly and I have four daughters, who thus far have resisted my efforts to form them into a barbershop quartet.
